Our professionals will investigate your sewer line to find out the cause of your problems and give you the best options on how to fix them.  Be sure to always go with the experts, especially when it’s a large job such as a sewer line replacement.  If you are concerned about having a sewer leak you should have it addressed immediately.  This is not an issue that you want to wait on as it will only get worse causing you a much larger amount of damage and costing you significantly more money.  Here are some signs pointing to a sewer line problem:

  • More than one drain in your home is clogged

  • Gurgling sounds coming from the toilet

  • The shower and bath do not drain or drain very slowly

  • Bad smell in your basement or yard

  • Flooded yard

  • Sewage backing up into the toilet or bathtub

  • Toilet water level rises when running the sink

What Can Cause Damaged Sewer Pipes?

  • Flushing debris down the toilet that shouldn’t be. The toilet is not a garbage can!
  • Pouring fat and grease down the drain. It will not be washed away by running hot water down the drain after it!
  • Buildup of sludge, hair, toilet paper etc
  • Tree roots. Tree roots are drawn to the water in pipes and will grow towards the source of water, eventually growing into the pipe
  • Shifting soil caused by heavy construction, settling, increased traffic overhead etc
  • Ground freezing and thawing
  • Normal wear and tear due to aging

Depending on the cause and severity of the damage we may be able to repair your existing sewer line.  In some cases, we may be able to reline the pipes with a process called Cured In-Place Pipelining.  This method will repair your pipes from the inside.  Resin will be poured into the pipes which will harden and essentially form a new hard pipe on the inside of the old and damaged one.  This can potentially be a great solution as not much digging is required so your landscaping will for the most part be unaffected.  Furthermore, it is cost effective and faster to repair than replacing the pipes.  The relined pipes are also very durable.  One may think that a repaired pipe would not last a long as a brand new one but many times this isn’t the case.  Relined pipes can last for decades.

If your pipes are too severely damage, we may need to replace part of the piping.  We will use a method called Pipe Bursting which is a process where hydraulics is used to break up the damaged pipe and pull a new seamless pipe through to replace it.  This method can also be used if your pipes are so bad that they require a full sewer line replacement.  Great thing about this method is that it is a trenchless technology so we will not need to dig up your lawn!

Our technicians are highly experienced, and we promise to always give you an honest assessment with the options that we feel are the best for your situation.  Give us a call and we can help!
